Enjoyed your column of April 22, but there was one more item you could have mentioned:
If memory serves, the Liberals, when in opposition, were good at railing at the government-of-the-day about the lack of indexing in regard to NS income tax brackets and personal tax credits. (I believe only one other province shares that dubious status with us.) Once again this past month we were reminded that, once in power (and with a majority government at that), the Liberals didn’t do a thing about it (and still haven’t, as I understand the still-born budget).
I don’t know if that belongs to the ‘bad’ category or in fact qualifies as ‘ugly’. But it sure as hell doesn’t rate ‘good’.

A Liberal win.

The Good……when premier MacNeil came out in support of Cape Breton coal. The Bad….when premier MacNeil couldn’t get management to negotiate union contracts. The Ugly….high schools built in premier MacNeil and Minister Casey ridings.
I predict a liberal minority.

Until pandering gives way to leadership we shall continue to wallow in the morass of a bloated civil service
