Thank you for an excellent article on immigration. However, one factor that you perhaps need to consider is that many of the 3,461 people in-migrating from Ontario are more than likely retirees attracted by the quality of life here in Nova Scotia as well as excellent property prices (not to mention escaping Doug Ford). The trouble is that being elderly, they will add to the demand for health care services.
Anecdotally, the 2019 clients of a neighbor who is in real estate were predominantly from Ontario escaping Ford) BC (cashing out), the USA (escaping Trump), and the UK (escaping Brexit). We are seen as a haven of reason and tranquility for these people.

Practically all that I have been reading and hearing on the subject of Immigration has cast it in a very positive light. This is very good to hear but , like most or all things, there are possibly some less favourable aspects involved and enlightenment on that aspect might provide some balance and thereby strengthen the prevalent position.
