  • As President Obama said In Michigan just before the vote to become the 24th. State to be a right to work State, he said it will be a “right to work for less”. This is an attack on the middle class. Who is going to pay for health care, schools, municipal affairs, not the rich. It is a race to the bottom.

  • Bill Hi: I’m a little surprised by the tone of your writing…”bad week for organized labour”; “weakened unions”; “harsh reality’, …this is a tremendous oportunity for North American and Nova Scotian manufacturing. Cheaper cars, more competitive pricing on our manufactured goods, increased exports, get those jobs back. What is negative about this? Don’t get caught up in the union mentality. Let’s be productive again!!!!

  • Woe is the employer !
    Freedom to manage ?
Give him some choice. Then there might be more of a commitment to productivity. Our economy might just become competitive. We might have some places to work.

  • Re “Union Woes”, in my view it is as much a human rights as an economic issue. No one should be required to join an organization if he/she doesn’t want to.I adhere to the classical liberalism of Ludwig von Mises, Hayek and others.
