Somewhere in the bureaucracy of NS there is a very negative mind-set . Here we have this fracking issue boiling over in Inverness county spurred on by the national groups like Council for Canadians and the Sierra Club, and the province sits by and watches these national/out of province groups highjack the whole industry because of their success at winning over the media in NS and the Municipal Council in Inverness. This was treated by the province as a one-off but in fact it was a whole dark story for the industry basically sending the message that NS is against drilling . Then we have the province trying to close 3 Uvint wine making businesses , which has been a legal way to make and buy wine in Ontario ( the home of all the Niagara wines) for maybe 30 years . Then we have the province totally ignoring the hundreds of illegal house and summer home rentals and that means the province and makes it hard for the municipalities to collect property taxes . How often do you see a provincial minister have a meeting with all his Municipal counterparts ?? Now zero in on ACOA and ECBC and watch how they manipulate the province . We will not progress until we get rid of this negative mind-set. Now, let’s see what they do with two ferry proposals.
