By design the senate was for ‘ sober second thought’. As such today, it is not sober enough; reform is indicated.
Obviously, senators should not be paid and just as obviouly, they shouldn’t be elected. Nor should they be chosen for their partican ways, nor by the PMO. The provinces should make the appointment: after all it is their representative. Surely they could find proven people who would provide such service.
