You are too kind. Justin Trudeau is an incompetent.
In my working life I regularly spent time in Ottawa for 30 years. Meeting Ministers, MP’s, Senators and bureaucrats. The Trudeau Gov is by far the most incompetent of any I observed. The most effective was the Chrétien (a crook), Paul Martin Gov.
David Dodge was Deputy at Finance, Peter Harder at Treasury and Doug Young Minister at Transport. Moya Greene was an ADM at Transport. Together they privatized AC, CN and air and sea ports. Interesting that Doug You was defeated by and NDPer in his NB riding. Too bad. Martin brought the Federal Fiscal situation back to respectability.
Stephen Harper’s management of the financial crisis and back to balance deserves recognition as does Mulroney on big economic and environmental issues.
So back to Trudeau. Incompetent and dangerous. Encouraging people to borrow when interest rates were low. Running up unprecedented deficits as interest rates were increasing. Borrowing to finance fantasy projects and as you suggest unable to implement anything.
With all of the above I believe the greatest crime Trudeau and his cronies have committed is to engender into the population, particularly young Canadians, the idea that wealth or investment comes from Government. I think this is particularly endemic in Nova Scotia. I recall an economic initiative out of Cape Breton that was based on more government as the source of wealth creation. Yikes!!
So, here’s my request to you. Write a column, or columns, on how wealth is created in a society. What is the source of tax revenue? How is it generated? And who pays taxes? (In USA top 1% pays more in taxes than bottom 90%). If nothing else put to rest that the only way Government generates new revenues is by borrowing.
I appreciate you taking the time to write these columns. We need more Bill Black.

Bill
You must remember from your working days that good operations people are harder to find than marketing people.
