In furtherance to my recent comment relative to compensation for the Premier et al, today’s HERALD reports that the Premier of PEI is undertaking to reduce his salary by a sizable amount and two other members of that Gov’t even more. Perhaps the message may filter through to those governing this province.
“We have been to this movie before”
They all start out like Jimmy Stewart (Mr, Smith goes to Washington or Davey Crockett (“fixin up the gov’t and laws as well”) and all wind up like Boris Karloff (The Return of Frankenstein)
If it wasn’t such tragedy it would be comedic,
Get your kool aide and popcorn ready for the next episode of Dumb and Dumber
If the current government really wants taxpayers to support the types and kinds of restraint (s) that are required in order to turn this foundering ship around, it should FIRST announce and implement meaningful reductions to MLA earnings and pension plans. This is known as ‘Leading By Example’ and it does work , par example WWI & WWII as well as numerous natural disasters; no mistake should be made about it , this province is engaged in an Economic war for its financial future and independant status within. the Confederation.
